Federal Way, WA
INNOVA provided an abbreviated Facility Condition Assessment, full design services, and construction administration for the renovation of the Federal Way Community Center locker rooms. Following a peer review of a prior City-commissioned assessment, INNOVA performed a supplemental evaluation and worked closely with the City to define a scope of work addressing long-standing deficiencies from the original construction.
The project involved a full interior gut and replacement of deteriorated wall assemblies and finishes. Corroded steel stud framing at the base of walls was removed and replaced, with new framing installed on a continuous 6-inch concrete curb to improve durability and reduce the risk of future water intrusion. Upgrades included a refreshed material palette with resinous flooring, wall tile, new ceilings, and renovated sauna and steam room finishes. New LED lighting was installed throughout, and HVAC systems were replaced and rebalanced to resolve airflow issues and improve humidity control.
